Taha Jaffer is Head of Wholesale Banking and Global Treasury AI at Scotia Bank. In this role, Taha is responsible for end-to-end delivery of “big box” AI projects in Global Treasury, Global Banking & Markets, Commercial Banking, and Wealth with impact targets in the $10M-$50M range. He leads a team of 25 who focus on alternative data, AI & ML and and quantum computing specifically applied to capital markets and finance.

Professor Winfried Hensinger heads the Sussex Ion Quantum Technology Group and he is the director of the Sussex Centre for Quantum Technologies. Hensinger is also co-founder, chairman and chief scientist of Universal Quantum, a full stack quantum computing company.

Prof Hensinger obtained his PhD at the University of Queensland demonstrating new and strange quantum effects with ultracold atoms. During his PhD, he spent an extended period at NIST in Gaithersburg in the group of Nobel laureate William Phillips where he managed to observe a new quantum effect for the first time where an atom moves both forward and backwards simultaneously. He then spent three years at the University of Michigan developing ways to scale ion trap quantum computing. In 2005, he moved to the University of Sussex where his group works on constructing a practical trapped-ion quantum computer as well developing portable quantum sensors.

Hensinger produced the first ion trap microchip in the world and more recently, his group developed a new generation of quantum microchips featuring world record specifications. In 2016, Hensinger and his group invented a ground-breaking new approach to quantum computing with trapped ions where voltages applied to a quantum computer microchip can replace billions of laser beams which would have been required in previous proposals on how to build a quantum computer. Hensinger recently announced the first practical blueprint for building a quantum computer in a paper published in Science Advances (http://advances.sciencemag.org/content/3/2/e1601540.full) giving rise to the assertion that is now possible to construct a large scale quantum computer. His group is currently assembling a quantum computer prototype based on this technology.

Adriana specialises in financial regulatory policy issues covering all Digital and Innovation topics, PSD2, Cyber-Security, Operational Resilience, Data protection, Tax and issues affecting fixed income including securitisation, margin and shadow banking reforms. Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Ms. Ennab was a Repo trader and Global Product Manager for Merrill Lynch, Tradition Government Securities and Goldman Sachs in Asia, London and New York. Additionally, she ran various private ventures in Asia and London.

Ms. Ennab holds a BS in Management and Marketing and Finance from New York University and an MBA from Fordham School of Business Management.

Adriana is on the Women in Fintech Powerlist 2018 and shortlisted for the Policy Makers and Regulatory Experts group.

As the Head of Fund Reporting and Regulatory Change, Deon is responsible for reporting fund data to clients, and for building client solutions around European and UK regulatory developments.

Jacqui is an international web scientist recognised as one of the 100 most powerful UK entrepreneurs and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Science in recognition of her international futurist work.

She is recognised as one of the Top Ten global IoT innovators and an independent industry analyst for the Internet of Things (IoT). She is one of 4 IoT leaders advising the European Commission on their citizen strategy in an IoT enabled Europe.

Janthana is a chartered accountant and former internal audit director at top-tier investment banks.

Marie Lundberg is the founder and CEO of Acronym Consulting AB, based in Stockholm, Sweden. She is a financial crime specialist with more than two decades of experience within the financial sector, including investment firms, large internet banks, payment service providers, traditional and private banking. Her area of expertise includes anti-bribery and corruption, fraud, anti-money laundering, customer due diligence, sanctions and counter terrorism financing.

Marie is a firm believer of using analytics and the importance of knowing and understanding your data, as well as your customers. Awareness, a solid risk management program and education is in her opinion a few of the keys to combat financial crime.

She has extensive international experience, working mainly in the Nordics and Europe including the UK. She is a founding member and co-chair of the ACAMS Nordics Chapter and a Certified Fraud Examiner by ACFE as well as a public speaker and thought leader in this area.

Sam is a financial crime prevention professional with over 15 years of practical experience in compliance. Sam holds a number of qualifications and is recognised as a subject matter expert in the field of financial crime.

Sam’s previous work experience includes working as MLRO, Data Protection Officer and CCO and Group Head of AML for various financial institutions, both offshore and in Europe. Sam also worked offshore for several years as the first legal counsel to the financial regulator in Guernsey and subsequently set up the financial crime division, overseeing the examination of a variety of financial institutions. She continues to maintain ongoing engagement with other regulators on financial crime matters.

Sam has extensive training experience in the field of financial crime prevention and corporate governance matters. She has most recently been involved in projects related to FenTech businesses, the use of RegTech to mitigate financial crime and list management relating to the screening of customers and third parties. Sam most recently worked with ACAMS Europe as its AML Director. Sam is recognised by ACAMS as a subject matter expert in sanctions and has co-authored a number of online certificate courses, facilitated working groups on 4/5AMLD in Europe and assistance in the development of white papers. Originally from Montreal, Quebec Canada, Sam holds a Bachelors of Public Administration, Law Degree, qualified as a barrister and solicitor and holds her Masters in Business, specialising in risk management.
