Bhupinder is the Head of Compliance of Commerz Trade Services Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Commerzbank AG, Germany. With his 10 years’ professional experiences, Bhupinder has developed expertise around AML/CTF Program, Sanctions, Trade Based Money Laundering, Quality Assurance and Anti-Bribery & Corruption.

Before joining Commerz Trade Services in July 2018, Bhupinder has worked for the likes of Standard Chartered Bank and Citi in the areas of FCC, CTF, AML, KYC, CDD and Sanctions.

Bhupinder earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Hertfordshire University, UK. He holds an Advanced Certification in AML/CFT from Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (“CAMS”).

Mohammad Ridzuan Abdul Aziz (Ridzuan) has over 20 years of commercially–driven regulatory, compliance and technology experiences in the Asia Pacific. He is currently the Malaysia country director and head of ASEAN business for WorldRemit, and on the board of KAF Investment Bank, AKRU robo-advisory and Ethis Global Ventures.

He is a member of Board of Advisor for the Fintech Association of Malaysia where among others, he focuses on raising Malaysia’s unique combined values of mature onshore ecosystem, nimble Labuan midshore framework and wealth, depth and breath from the Islamic digital economy, for inbound, passthrough and outbound stakeholders.

Ridzuan is one of the advisers for the Labuan Financial Services Authority, Asia Pacific University, Taylor’s University Business School, Quest International University and Policy Streets.

In 2013 and 2016, Ridzuan founded regulatory technology advisory firms RHT Compliance Solutions and CS Technology Solutions Sdn Bhd, respectively. In 2017, Ridzuan was the CEO of Sedania As Salam Capital Sdn Bhd.

He was a regulator with the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (1998) during the Asia financial crisis, the Securities Commission ((2001) and then redeployed to a joint task force between the Securities Commission and Bank Negara Malaysia during the formation of the investment bank concept (2002).

Ridzuan graduated from University of Wales, Aberyswyth (1997) with a BSc in economics, majoring in accounting and finance. He obtained his MBA, specialising in management information systems from the International Islamic University Malaysia (2005).

Ravin Kaur is the Senior Policy Advisor at Regulatory Authority in Malaysia with several years of experience working on issues of anti-money laundering/counter terrorism financing, corporate policy, serious corporate crime investigation, regulatory governance, and anti-corruption. Presently, she is a member of the Joint Committee on AML/CFT focusing on the revision of FATF’s Recommendation 24 on beneficial ownership. She participates in FATF’s Policy Development Group meetings on the revision to Recommendation 24 and its Interpretative Notes. She is a certified AML/CFT Trainer awarded by the Central Bank of Malaysia and Asian Banking School. 

Former Head of AML/CFT Policy Group and Sub- Committee on Non-Profit Organisations. She was appointed for two terms as Co-Chair of APG Typologies Working Group and in 2011 was appointed as a Co-Chair for Joint FATF/APG Typologies Workshop. She has worked closely with APG Secretariat in developing the APG’s Typologies report on NPO Vulnerability. She has also worked closely with many other international organisations such as UNCTED, APEC, USAID, and Global Center on Cooperative Security in various projects on Non-Profit Organisations Sector and Counter Financing of Terrorism.  

A lawyer by profession, Ms. Kaur has over 20 years of experience in various capacity-building projects and has delivered hundreds of trainings in areas of corporate regulation (anti-money laundering, anti-corruption, trade-based financial crime, and governance), policy, and practice. Her prior work includes her involvement in the working committee to develop legislation on beneficial ownership for the legal persons in Malaysia, assessing and evaluating the robustness of the policies. In her current projects, she is conducting research on ESG and its impact on legal persons. She holds Master’s Degree in International Law. 

Mr. Muhamad Nazri bin Shaidon currently pursuing his PhD (Doctor of Philosophy) specializing in Money Laundering and also the AML/CFT Practitioner and Trainer in Financial Institution. He was a Financial Investigator with the Central Bank of Malaysia and has experience in financial investigation relating to Money Laundering and Financial Crime Activities. He provided litigation support to Prosecution and was invited to impart AML Investigation to Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in Malaysia.He has been accredited as a ‘Certified Financial Investigator’ from National Coordination Committee to Counter Money Laundering (NCC) and Bank Negara Malaysia. He also has vast experience working with the financial institution and has experience working with International Bank (APAC, Global Investigation Unit)He is also actively conducting knowledge sharing and educating the public on AML/CFT and Financial scams such as mule, Ponzi scheme and fraud via social media platform.

Fairuz pioneered the data science and analytics unit at Bank Islam back in 2020. He launched the data analytics platform, consolidating 50+ data sources into a single centralized data mart for analytics and Machine Learning consumption, develop analytic dashboard for businesses and spearhead the analytics culture across the group. Under his leadership, the analytic team has contributed more than triple-digit of RM million financial impact to deposit retail business and new financing using ML. Today, he continues to contribute to the bank in compliance, credit risk, and wholesale banking using machine learning.

Effa has over 15 years of working experience in Internal Audit, Fraud, Risk, Security & Project Management from Government Link Companies (GLCs) and Startups based in Malaysia.

Effa was the pioneer Regional Internal Auditor & Fraud Investigator of Grab for SouthEast Asia (SEA).

She started her career journey way back in 2007 as a Capital Market Graduate Trainee of Securities Commission Malaysia (SC) before ventured into Fraud Management in Banking (Maybank), Telco (Celcom) and Startups (Grab & Billplz).

A Master Degree holder in Forensic Accounting & Financial Criminology, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a SIRIM Certified Lead Assessor for ISO9001 Quality Management System (QMS).

Raymon Ram is an advocate against economic crime, having published numerous articles and case analyses on the subject matter. He is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) with a Master’s degree in Economic Crime Management, Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (HONS) and Certificate in Corporate Governance by Basel Institute, Switzerland.

He has led teams to complete corporate fraud investigations, asset recovery exercises and facilitated various anti-fraud courses for the local law enforcement agencies and private sector entities, mainly those listed on Bursa Malaysia and regulated by the Securities Commission. He had also assisted the National Audit Department, Malaysia to restructure the Audit Investigation Guidelines for state and national level auditors.

Raymon is the Founder / Managing Principal at Graymatter Forensic Advisory Sdn Bhd, a solution-based training and advisory specializing in Financial Forensics and Fraud Risk Management. He also holds the position of Secretary General at Transparency International Malaysia and Assist. Secretary General at the Malaysian Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Dr Ainul Huda (DR AJ) is a certified Head of Compliance (AML/CFT) serving at World Currency Sdn Bhd, one of the leading companies in the MSB Industry around East Coast Malaysia. She is handling five branches of MSBs in the east coast regions, monitoring the compliance of all outlets according to all AML/CFT and MSB-related regulations. She is also being selected by the Central Bank of Malaysia (Bank Negara Malaysia) to be part of the Group of Compliance (GOCO) Committee. She completed her Ph.D. in Financial Criminology and her Master’s in Accountancy from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She graduated from the University of Adelaide, Australia, with her Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and Honours Degree in Accounting.  She was a certified AML/CFT Compliance Officer by the Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA) and recommended by the Bank Negara Malaysia to be the Assessor for FAA Individual Accreditation regarding AML/CFT Compliance in the MSB industry. Her previous employment was Senior Accounts Executive at an oil and gas industry player for seven (7) years. Her 15 years of experience in the industry supported by outstanding achievements in her academics equipped her with a strong background to always support the industry players to enhance their knowledge and competency in AML compliance and business developments.

Ivan is as an experienced compliance officer and is currently holding a Deputy Vice President role in ORIX which is a Non-Bank Financial Institution in Malaysia. He is a registered compliance officer with Bank Negara Malaysia (Central Bank Malaysia), a postgraduate in MSc Finance and Investment from Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom and a Certified Anti Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS).

He has eight (8) years of working experience in the banking segment and non-banking segments which provides me with an extensive view of how the industry works. He is personally involved in policy reviewing, drafting, system development, testing, and monitoring.

Ivan have rolled out a few systems for the companies that he had worked for. Building it from scrap and launching the system based on the requirement set by the regulators and business needs. It is very important for him to have substantial testing and monitoring for the system delivered to the live environment. Lastly, he is passionate about building an ethical culture. On top of it, he also emphasize the importance of preventing, finding, and fixing problems.

Nur Fazlim Bt M. Mohamed Kunju is currently the Associate Director Compliance Integrity & Governance Touch ‘n Go Group. She had been serving various financial institutions for the last 13 years. She is a Certified Compliance Officer (CAMCO-Asian School of Banking), a Member to Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers (AICB) and a Certified Compliance Trainer accredited for the 7th year (2nd term) by the Finance Accreditation Agency (FAA) a well-regarded accreditation body under the Central Bank of Malaysia. She started her career as a Quantity Surveyor and subsequently, a Senior Project Manager to which she was responsible for handling a variety of commercial and residential projects in the Construction Industry for 13 years. She then transitioned to the Money Service Business industry as a Compliance Officer, a role that she was passionate about ever since. Throughout her career, Nur Fazlim has spearheaded compliance and risk reforms in the various financial institutions that she has served and is well-regarded as a Head of Compliance within the industry. With a passion for teaching, she believes that educating the future generation of Compliance and Risk officers is key in combatting financial crime, especially in the Fin-Tech sphere. She had been invited as a speaker and as a panelist for the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists (ACAMS), Islamic Fintech Summit, Finance Accreditation Agency, LawTech Malaysia, UAE Exchange Global, NovaTech, Napier, Thomson Reuters and she became one of the Mentor in E Fintech School APAC Region organized by FortNynja, Singapore. She had recently been awarded as Top 25 Women Leader in Financial Technology in APAC Region 2020 by The Financial Technology Report from USA.
