Torbjörn Jacobsson, M.Sc, is affiliated scholar to The School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg, vice-chairman in the board of one of Swedens largest local savings banks, Sörmlands Sparbank and runs his own consultancy firm. He has previously held positions as CRO, CGO (Chief Governance Officer), CFO and CIO within different Swedish banks.

Torbjörn has 25 years of experience in the banking and insurance industry. Working mainly with building and developing small Swedish/Nordic financial institutions. His work has been focused on risk, compliance, finance and IT. He has also been a very active member in several committees within the Swedish Bankers´ Association with a focus on consultation paper reviews. This has given him a broad knowledge about the banking industry, its regulations and how an efficient risk management and good banking governance can give a competitive advantage and improved customer experience. Torbjörn performs a yearly survey program within the Nordic banking industry on the effects of increased regulation. He started this survey when he got his Executive MBA from Stockholm Business School in 2015. In November 2019 he was one of the authors to a book on Financial regulation and supervision. The first PhD paper based on the surveys was published in June 2019. He is also speaking at conferences and giving guest lectures at several universities. In February 2017 Torbjörn was a finalist for the Swedish award: GRC profile of the year.
