How COVID-19 can move the dial on prevention of financial crime by mass-adoption of Digital ID systems
The number of digital transactions are growing at an estimated 12.7 % annually. By 2022, an estimated 60% of global GDP will be digitised. However, a large number of institutions have not yet transitioned to using Digital ID in onboarding of clients and ongoing CDD. The Financial Action Task Force (the global standard setter on money laundering and terrorist financing), recently published Guidance in March 2020 to assist jurisdictions and entities determine whether a digital ID is appropriate for use for customer due diligence.
This presentation will cover that Guidance and explore how the COVID-19 may present an opportunity to further the adoption of Digital ID solutions and further the global fight against financial crime.

COVID-19: Challenges and Lessons Learned in Financial Services
Coronavirus is pushing financial companies’ boundaries to accommodate various operational and staffing issues. Just as teams are being asked to work from home, financial markets are experiencing record orders and trades as well as massive uncertainties.
Investment and trading fluctuation is occurring when business risks are at their highest levels, and many employees have never had the opportunity to work from home. However, it is not all gloom and doom, and some key lessons are being learned along the way. We will look at the various challenges that companies faced, right at the beginning and now, when lockdown’s are relaxing. What challenges are ahead of us if a new lockdown occurs? We will also analyze what we have learned as a company from the crisis, where we can improve and where we need to focus on more in the future.
