With over 20 years of experience, Liliya joined Commerzbank in 2016, having previously worked across the financial crime space in different roles and capacity and across different platforms. She has managed teams, due diligence projects in challenging environments, and led major investigations and litigation support cases.
Her experience includes the Royal Bank of Canada, several London-based investigative consultancy firms and Transparency International in Berlin. In the late 1990s she joined Bulgaria’s Financial Intelligence Unit where she headed the International Contacts and Legal Coordination department. She holds a doctorate in AML policies from Tilburg University in the Netherlands and gives lectures at the University of Manchester.

Richard is the EMEA Head of Sanctions at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation Europe (SMBCE) and is responsible for overseeing sanctions compliance within the region. Richard joined SMBCE in February 2013 and has led efforts to enhance the sanctions systems and controls framework. During his time at SMBCE Richard has led in responding to the implementation of EU/U.S. sanctions targeting Russian interests, the implementation of the JCPOA and now subsequent U.S. withdrawal. Working closely with deals teams at SMBCE, Richard has substantial experience in sanctions risk mitigation with respect to corporate banking products.
Prior to SMBCE, Richard worked in an AML and Sanctions function at Credit Suisse during a period when the bank was under a Deferred Prosecution Agreement for sanctions violations and had to go through the challenges presented by the Arab Spring. Prior to Credit Suisse, Richard began his career working on a KYC remediation project at Goldman Sachs.
Director - Client Onboarding Transformation Lead, Deutsche Bank
Responsible for current KYC platform re-engineering focused on client on boarding globally for Deutsche Bank. Role also expands to the use of RPA via BluePrism and looking at NLP and AI initiatives (especially with regards to sanctions and adverse media) to assess capabilities and integration within the new KYC platform. As part of this role, policy and organisational transformation is a key part of the remit in order to deliver a more robust and strategic solution which meets financial crime and KYC obligations whilst being client and user centric in respect of design and approach.

Whilst at the Bank of Cyprus, Gregory led the anti-money laundering (AML) risk management team within the International Banking Services Division and acted as the local compliance officer. His team was responsible for the onboarding of high-risk clients, the evaluation of large and complex transactions, as well as the review and approval of existing high-risk client relationships. In addition, Dellas was responsible for providing advice, guidance and specialized training to management and staff on AML and regulatory compliance matters.
In the past, Dellas worked with Coopers & Lybrand in Nicosia and held various senior and managerial positions in Cyprus Popular Bank and the Bank of Cyprus in wealth management, compliance and other areas. He has experience as a private banker and led the setup of private banking units in the U.K. and Romania. He also served as the group money laundering compliance officer and was responsible for the AML function for Cyprus Popular Bank and all its overseas subsidiaries.
