Paddy is an experienced Economic Crime leader who joined Virgin Money in February 2024 to drive their Public Private Partnership engagement.
This followed a 20-year career in Law Enforcement with Northumbria Police where half of his service was spent within the North East Regional Organised Crime Unit (NEROCU). A detective for almost his entire career from Constable to Inspector, Paddy was responsible for running investigations into many facets of organised crime including international OCGs involved in the supply of drugs, Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery offences, complex fraud networks and more.
Since 2019 he has been focussed on Economic Crime working as part of the City of London Police’s Regional Development Officer (RDO) network and supporting the growth and development of the law enforcement response to these threats at a local, regional and national level. Working collaboratively with the National Economic Crime Centre Paddy aided the planning and delivery of several National campaigns and intensifications, supporting victims and disrupting criminals. He also drove the strategic restructure of the North East Regions Policing response to Economic Crime.
Bringing his passion for collaboration and desire to tackle the threats posed by Economic Crime into the Private sector. As part of the Economic Crime Risk team at Virgin Money, Paddy supports the Nominated Officer and MLRO contributing to our purpose by protecting our customers and stopping bad people doing bad things through our firm.
