Sahilah Ain Sathakathulla is a cybercriminologist specializing in AI governance, cybercrime, and victimology. Her work focuses on creating safer digital spaces through research, policy development, and ethical frameworks.
In 2023, she received the SASCV President’s Promising Researcher Award for her contributions to cybercrime studies. She was also recognized among MonstaAsia's Top 100 in 2022 for her dedication to impactful research. Sahilah's expertise includes developing holistic cyberspace policies and AI crime legislation frameworks, addressing the challenges posed by evolving technologies.
Beyond academia, she provides pro-bono consultations to the Royal Malaysian Police on cybercrime, offering insights that help shape effective intervention strategies. Her work emphasizes victimology, ensuring that victims of cybercrimes are acknowledged and protected.
As an advocate of Article 8 of the Federal Constitution, Sahilah’s writing reflects a strong foundation in political philosophy and cybercrime intervention, highlighting the importance of ethical principles in technology governance. She is dedicated to bridging the gap between technological advancements and justice, advocating for a secure, inclusive digital future. Presently, she serves as Research Manager (Political & Security), for ASEAN Youth Organization (AYO ASEAN MY) and Philosophy Ambassador, Malaysian Philosophy Society.
