Simon was the Government’s Anti-Fraud Champion until 2024, leading the delivery of the Fraud Charter, hosting the first Global Fraud Summit, and launching the Stop! Think Fraud awareness campaign.

He was the Member of Parliament for Barrow & Furness from 2019 to 2024, where he played a pivotal role on the Home Affairs Select Committee and led initiatives to strengthen cyber security and the UK’s international partnerships as Chair of the APPGs on Cyber Security and AUKUS.

Prior to his parliamentary career, Simon worked for over a decade with some of the biggest companies in the UK as Director of Strategy at Cifas to prevent fraud and other financial crimes, with a particular passion for supporting vulnerable people at risk of scams.
